New Electronic Invoicing

Electronic InvoicingTo better serve its customers, MediConnect is replacing its current paper based invoicing practices with a new, easy to read, electronic invoicing solution emailed to clients on a weekly basis.

The new electronic invoices have been formatted for simplicity so clients can quickly locate the most relevant information at a glance. The requestor name is shown on each invoice so offices can keep track of who is making each request and then print, organize, share and store their invoices with ease. Clients are also presented with a variety of delivery options such as summaries which list all weekly requests, or as individual invoices that detail only one claimant at a time.
As an added benefit, eliminating paper-based invoicing also helps to reduce any negative impact on the environment by helping to save trees, conserve energy and reduce waste.

The electronic invoice is a password protected PDF file that will be emailed at the end of each billing cycle (clients will access the files using a password that will be issued by their Account Manager).  In addition, clients also have the option to download invoices in a CSV format for use in an Excel spreadsheet. This feature is available now on our website and can be accessed by selecting "Online Billing."

For more information about MediConnect's electronic invoicing or to learn more about our online billing feature, please contact your Account Manager.

Better Organize Your Records with Electronic Indexing

Better Organize with Electronic IndexingOnce a finished medical record arrives at a firm, a lot of time and energy often go into organizing it into a document ready to be used for a case. Armed with sticky notes, paper clips and rubber bands, offices will tag, separate and highlight the most relevant sections. As an easier, more streamlined alternative, MediConnect offers electronic indexing.

MediConnect's indexing service electronically separates and labels all sections of a medical record both by category and chronological sequence. The categories for indexing are customizable so you can choose how to best organize the document. For example, sections may included, but are not limited to, admission, diagnostic testing, fetal monitor strips, MRI reports, pathology reports and laboratory. A hyperlinked table of contents at the beginning of the document makes it easy to jump to each category with the click of a mouse.
The services can be added to any record previously retrieved, just contact your Account Manager for more details.

RapidRetrieve New Release

RapidRetrieve New Release

The latest release of RapidRetrieve, MediConnect's online record retrieval system, has many significant new features that increase the speed, ease of use, and overall convenience. The new features are now available.

Mouse-Over Pop-Up Notes
When checking medical record retrieval requests, clients can now simply "mouse-over" any Request ID number and a small pop-up window will display the last three notes entered. Clients can quickly review the most recent activity for multiple requests all from one page or click on the Request ID to navigate to the complete note history.

Excessive Provider Fee Review Columns
To more efficiently review and either approve or deny excessive provider fees, two new columns have been added. Clients can mouse-over Request ID numbers to review the most recent notes, then check a box in column "A" to approve or "D" to deny the proposed fee. Users can then select "Submit" which will submit all approvals / denials as a batch so that requests can quickly move through the system.

Interoffice Notes
Clients can now submit inter-office notes in RapidRetrieve to share information with co-workers. These notes (which appear in a blue background) will not be reviewed or acted upon by MediConnect Retrieval Agents (notes to Agents appear in a green background).

Customer Spotlight:

Sanders, Viener, Grossman, LLP

In the spring of 2005, Sanders Viener Grossman, LL.P. was looking for a new medical record retrieval outsourcing company that would be more efficient than the way they were currently gathering medical records. They chose MediConnect Global and have been using MediConnect's online retrieval and digitization service to retrieve medical records in support of their cases ever since.

A major factor in the decision to use MediConnect was to leverage its RapidRetrieve technology not only to retrieve needed records, but to track them in real-time as well. Sanders Viener Grossman, L.L.P. have found that using MediConnect as an outsourced vendor provides this tracking capability while allowing staff members to stay focused on the core aspects of the their cases while MediConnect "spends the time calling and following up on retrieving their records."

Sanders Viener Grossman, L.L.P., a National Law Firm specializing in Products Liability and Personal Injury, based out of Mineola, New York has been protecting the rights of innocent victims for over thirty years. Since 1974, the firm has been achieving favorable results while offering comprehensive care to every client it serves. Contact the firm at www.thesandersfirm.com

Evaluating When You Should Order "Rush" Service

Rush Service

MediConnect offers a special "Rush" Service which can be invaluable when clients need records expedited quickly or they need to be able to track the progress of the shipment through FedEx shipping.

Rush service simply means MediConnect will expedite every procedure possible. Agents increase the frequency of all phone calls made to providers (often double). Forms faxed or emailed to providers are labeled in bold as "RUSH." All information delivered, both to and from the provider, will be facilitated through overnight delivery (cost to be charged to the client) which means any such deliveries can be tracked online automatically in status notes.

This typically results in a much faster retrieval and a significant reduction in normal delivery time. However, MediConnect cannot promise an exact window of delivery because records can only be retrieved as fast as providers release them.

If time and tracking are critical, add a "RUSH" Service to your record retrieval request. To order a "RUSH" Service or to learn more, please contact your Account Manager.
